Founded in 2018, Deckard Technologies operates globally with offices in the U.S., Colombia and Australia, delivering actionable insights on the business of short-term rentals, long-term rentals, and foreclosures.

Deckard Technologies aims to empower local governments with the data, insights, and tools they need to maximize compliance and unlock vital public revenue. This revenue funds schools, roads, health, law enforcement, parks, libraries, and much more. Without crucial revenues identified and realised, communities lose out. That’s why our work goes beyond compliance. It’s about fairness and impact. In short, compliance drives equity; and equity strengthens communities.

2018 — Deckard Technologies is born

Deckard Technologies has rapidly evolved from 2018, driven by innovation, data excellence, and a mission to transform how governments manage property compliance.

2018-2019 — Early Growth and Product Focus

Deckard Technologies was founded in May by Greg Rose, Jess Flanagan, and Tony Moriarty, launching in both Australia and the United States, with Nick Del Pego joining soon after. The company closed its initial Seed and Seed-1 funding rounds, setting the foundation for growth.

2019 — Strategic Pivot and Leadership Expansion

Deckard Technologies shifted its core focus towards short-term rental (STR) compliance in August and launched a large-scale STR platform monitoring. By year’s end, Cathedral City, CA became the first short-term rental client, and Seed-2 funding was secured. Nick Del Pego was appointed CEO, and Dustin Reilich joined as VP of Sals and Government Relations. A successful Seed-3 round supported the new strategic focus.

2021 — International Expansion Begins

By February, the company had clients in 10 U.S. states. In May, Deckard Technologies established a wholly owned subsidiary in Colombia, supporting its international operations. Deckard Technologies’ STR data mining infrastructure expanded rapidly, covering over 10,000 platforms by year’s end.

2022 — Scaling with Momentum

Deckard Technologies raised its Seed-4 round in August to accelerate growth. Its platform solidified its position as a leader in automated STR compliance, combining AI with massive-scale data mining. The U.S. client base expanded swiftly across new jurisdictions.

2023 — Global Presence, Series A Closed

Series A funding closed in June, marking a major milestone in company maturity. By August, the platform was active in 20 U.S. states, and in September, the first Australian client came onboard. Deckard Technologies officially stepped onto the global stage.

2024 — Market Leadership Cemented

With coverage in a majority of U.S. states and a Canadian launch in February, momentum continued to build. Rentalscape’s proven capabilities and full suite of monitoring, tax collection, compliance, and more, drove Deckard to become the leading GovTech platform for property compliance and data-driven oversight.
